Enid and I met because we were both Pew Fellows. We had friends in common, visual artists and writers. Enid was thoroughly in both worlds. Enid called me after hearing from friends that I was in treatment for breast cancer. Her up-beat and no nonsense support as a long term survivor of breast cancer did and continues to mean very much to me.
